Ellas story

I faced many tests, wondered whether HPV should be treated, and dealt with risks, fear, and tears. Uncertain about what’s next, I return to the doctor’s office, hoping for a favourable outcome. HPV type 18, high risk of cancer.

Today, I want to talk about a study on human papillomavirus. Several years ago, I became concerned about my women’s health. In addition to the annual examination, I began asking the doctor what other tests I could undergo.

They gave me several tests, including HPV and chlamydia, but at that time, they found nothing, and I calmed down. I had a full check-up last year, and they found two markers for me – increased creatinine, which means abnormalities in kidney function.

In general, this virus only works when the immune system is weakened. And there are other concomitant diseases. So, I passed all possible tests to ensure I was otherwise healthy. This virus affects 40% of the entire population, quite a large number!

However, doctors found that I have HPV type 18 with an indicator of 4.5, which means I am a carrier. This is a high indicator, plus the type itself is one of the most serious when there is a high risk of getting cancer.

I carefully studied this topic, and when the results showed that I had human papillomavirus type 18, the doctor prescribed expensive treatment, including a spray, injections, and other medications. And I only used a spray, which was also not cheap. I didn’t do any treatment, and a year later, I decided to get re-tested. Among other things, they started sending me for additional tests.

Understanding the Disease and Prevention

I understand that this is a necessary measure, and we now need to be tested for cancer to check for tumours. When I came for the second time for tests and an appointment, they showed me a diagram. There is a cell, a nucleus, and the virus is in the cell. And if it ends up in the nucleus, there will be cancer.

Everything is fine as long as the immune system works; there will be no cancer, and it’s safe. You need to take care of yourself and get checked annually. If you don’t, you might miss the moment and let the disease progress.

The doctor advised me to take medications that support the immune system, avoid smoking, and stay away from smokers. These were recommendations after the first appointment.

Since the doctor discovered erosion, I also had a colposcopy. The gynaecologist observed it for several years, starting from my first visit.

It increased in size over time and was quite large. The doctors were constantly in a hurry – they needed to give birth so that they could cauterise it!

Positive Developments and Additional Costs

And now it has shown that the erosion has begun to heal, I’ll tell you how and why in a new review soon! Imagine what happiness! Maybe if it weren’t for HPV, I wouldn’t have done the additional expensive test, but I found out good news!

Among the downsides of the examination, I want to note that I had to pay extra for urgency. Although this charge was completely unnecessary, I paid it. They performed a general smear, which showed an increased level of red blood cells. This could be due to the air conditioner or something serious. To determine the cause, I need to take another test called Femoflor 16, which costs 3,200 rubles, 300 rubles for material sampling and 300 rubles for urgency.

I already paid about 10,000 rubles for several tests, an HPV doctor’s appointment, plus the collection of material and urgency.

I took and did only a few studies, not a whole complex.

And for the first time, I passed everything that was offered. All sorts of chlamydia, trichomonas, syphilis, HIV and so on, and then completely. Since I didn’t change my sexual partner, I didn’t start retaking everything!

A repeated analysis showed the same, identical result despite a year already passing.

There is no treatment against this HPV virus; the main thing is maintaining HPV immunity and getting examined and tested on time. You can give birth to children. This does not negatively affect men, but women can develop uterine cancer and so on; first of all, this affects childbearing and, of course, health in general. And, of course, I wish no one to encounter such a dangerous virus.

How to protect yourself from this – protect yourself or take the full complex in advance. Of course, I suffered and cried a lot because I was infected.

Partner Retesting

I asked my now ex-lover to take tests, and he showed me the negative result. However, the tests did not cover all types, so the lab only processed a few. Be careful

The need for treatment depends on your indicators and type. I received a prescription for antibiotics, injections, and a spray, and the doctor advised me to treat both my partner and myself.

The result is this: a year has passed, and correctly, you need to retake the test since the human papillomavirus can change, disappear, or go away on its own in six months or a year and a half. But my indicator remained the same. Thanks to additional tests and examinations, I discovered I don’t have any other diseases, so I don’t have to worry for now.
